I am so sad to report that Bill Petter passed away. Bill was a lifetime WMRA member, a two time Championship car owner and most importantly a friend of the WMRA since he went to his first WMRA race in 1946. Bill's son, Terry, was WMRA champion in 1985 and his grandson, Ben, was WMRA champion in 2009. Bill will be sorely missed by everyone in the club, especially me.

The races will not be the same. He was truly an amazing person, and I feel blessed to say I knew him. Rest in peace Grandpa Bill!

Bill was one of the really great people in or out of racing. A great supporter of WMRA and a wonderful person, I'll miss him a lot.

The pits will never be the same without Bill's kind words. He was really a great person and I always looked forward to reading his Christmas Cards. My condolences to the Peter family! Pat.

I can't tell you how sad this day is. Bill was one of the first guys who approached me duirng my first race with WMRA and was one of the big reasons why I got involved with the club. As I write this today I'm have a very hard time with this news. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Petter family and extended WMRA racing community. I will miss you greatly Bill.

This morning in downtown Kirkland many of Bill's friends and family (and even some people that didn't know him!) met for a farewell walk down Lake Washington Blvd. As many people know, Bill would go for a walk almost every morning and wave (and smile) to people on their way to work. There was an amazing turnout this morning. Over 100 people were there! It was very special to see how many lives Bill has touched over the years. He was such a selfless person. I don't think I ever heard that man complain about anything! He would just smile and make a silly joke. Because he was such a special person, and such an amazing supporter of the club, I think we should name the first race The Bill Petter Memorial. Evan and I are working on some memorial decals for all the race cars, and we're hoping to have them ready for the first race. Hope to see you all there!
RIP BP21

Hello to the board! I haven't posted here since 2006.
Kim Barr & I were to find information regarding memorial/funeral services for Bill. We very much desire to pay our last respects. Does anyone know when and where this will be? Or is it already past?

Northshore Baptist Church 10301 NE 145th St Bothell, WA 98011
I hope to see you all there!
