Allow EFI systems ie. Mega Squirt and Electromotive. I run a Holley 350 at the moment but plan on switching over to FI and electronic is far more appealing to me as a home tinkerer than mechanical injection. I'd like to assemble a hotter motor for WMRA races and fuel and ignition mapping would be so much easier to adjust with a laptop. Steve Hora #46

Steve, this was allowed until this year. I think that the units you want to run is a problem. You may have a better chance if you use a stock unit. Come to the meetings and plead your case.

I'm hoping the EFI rule change could be applied to Regional Cars only and the national cars would still comply to mechanical injection
Has a date been set for the rules meeting? And where would it be held?

Steve, go to Links, then in the upper left there is a "Rules" link. That should do it.

I think originally this came up about the DIV II midget group down at the other little track by South sound... name escapes me now, that if they ran with us they ran gas and with EFI. The root issue was safety with respect to fire suppression in the event of a bad crash. This came up like 2 or 3 years ago. As far as cars legal to race...competition vs safety. so long as they dont pose a hazard being too slow or perpetually in the way, the club must consider letting just about all midgets run, until the time comes where more guys come back out with the true midgets. Its like the club needs to tread water until some signs of life and growth can be accounted for.

I was thinking of running a methanol EFI system using Hybusa ITB's and a megasquirt ECU. Basically the same set up for the Ecotech that is running in the BCRA but with a 2.0L Zetec that should put out around 200hp with a mild motor. This set up should give me a fighting chance on the small ovals.
